We are very pleased to announce that Motorsport UK have now granted the permit to allow the Hillclimb to take place.
Our chosen official Motor Club is Mid Derbyshire Motor Club, and we are extremely pleased to welcome them to the Festival.
Mid Derbyshire MC have worked very hard with Motorsport UK, Kirklees Council and ourselves to achieve this. The first closed road Hillclimb to take place in Yorkshire.
Celebrating 100 years this year of Hillclimbing in the Holmfirth area. Entries along with the regulations will be open on the website on the 20th of January.
We are also pleased to announce that it has appointed PR and marketing specialists, Chicane to handle press and public relations for the Festival.
Chicane has huge experience of all things motoring. Please explore the website for full details.
First media releases about the Hillclimb becoming official will be going out next week, ahead of Festival Media launches in February. News of the Festival is also going to be announced in TITO, the local magazine publication this coming month.
The National Street Rod Association will be attending and you can visit their Stand on the Event field where there is a magnificent selection of Hot Rods put together by Nigel.
Thanks Nigel.
Commercial interest in Festival is increasing, and we would welcome new Partners to join us. There are still lots of opportunities available for businesses and we have various sponsorship packages available.
Please contact Roger who will be pleased to discuss your requirements.
Slowly Sideways will be bringing a collection of fabulous Rally Cars to the Festival.
The group centres its attentions on the Group B era from 1983 to 1986 and the cars that were summarily banned from international competition from 1987 onward.
There will be demonstration runs of these iconic Rally cars throughout the Festival. The original Pilbeam MP62-01 is now back in Mike Pilbeam’s ownership and will be on display at the Festival. Built in 1991, it was the last race car to be designed using a pencil and drawing board by Mike and his Team. It will be joining famous racing driver Robin Darlington’s 1979 and 1981 Championship winning Pilbeam MP40.
A big thank you to Arrow Self Drive for providing the Marshals with a shuttle bus,
and to RRG for providing a Toyota Hi Lux for rescue operations at the Hillclimb.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to this spectacular Festival.
